Runescape- 99 Smithing Guide

Smithing. It's one of those capes that dont have to take a lot of time. You just need money. This guide is going to show you the most profitable way to 99 smithing but also the longest way.

What you need:

• Various Ores depending on level
• Coal
• Pickaxe (if mining your own ores)
• Patience
  

Members should smelt at either the Port Phasmatys Furnace or at the edgeville furnace (Varrock armour required)

Non-members should utilise the Furnace in Al kharid beside the Tannery.

Levels 1-15

For these beginning levels you will make Bronze bars whcih give 6.25 xp each. You can either mine the copper and tin ores need by yourself if money is tight, or Buy them off the grand exchange. Start at the bank near your Smelting furnace. Take out 14 Copper ore and 14 tin ore. Run to the furnace. Smelt the ores. Bank and Repeat. You will need to smelt 389 bronze bars for 15 smithing.

Levels 15-30

For these levels you are going to make iron bars which grant you 12.5xp. Each iron ore you smelt has a 50% chance of turning out as a bar. If you are a member and you use rings of forging then it becomes 100% but you will need multiple rings. You will need to smelt 877 iron bars to reach 30 smithing. Start off at the bank, take out 28 iron ores. Run to your furnace and smelt the bars. Bank and repeat.

Levels 30-50 (Members 35)

Steel bar time, giving you 17.5xp a bar! You are going to need 1 iron ore and 2 coals for each steel bar you wish to produce. Star off at the bank, take out 9 Iron ores and 18 coals. Smelt, bank and repeat. At Level 35 members may wish to Start making cannonballs. The quest Dwarf Multicannon Was be completed to do so. Smithing cannonballs is profitable but takes a long time. Approx. 100k gold an hour and around 10k xp/hr. You will need to smelt 5027 steel bars for level 50 smithing and 3437 cannonballs. Members may wish to smelt cannonballs to 99 due to the amount of profit although, i do not recommend this due to the amount of time it takes. Smelting steel bars to 99 is also a good way to profit out of the skill.You'll make around 300 gold each steel bar you produce

Levels 50-70

Time for mithril which gives 50 xp. To smelt a mithril bar you need 4 coal and 1 mithril ore. Go to the bank. Take out 20 coals and 5 mithril ores. Smelt, Bank and repeat. You will need to smelt 21,210 bars to get level 70 smithing. You will make approximately 300gp each bar Depending on the current prices.

Levels 70-85

Adamant here we come! Time to smelt addy bars, which give 37.5xp. They require one Adamantite ore and 6 coal per bar. Take out 24 coal and 4 addy ores. Smelt, bank, repeat. You will need to smelt 67,226 bars to get 85 smithing. It may seem like a lot but hang in there. You will make approx. 200 gp each bar.

Levels 85-99

Almost there! It's the home stretch. It is not finally time to smelt Runite Bars. It requires 1 runite ore and 8 coals. You get 50xp each bar. Go to the bank, take out 16 coals and 2 runite ores. Smelt, Bank, Repeat. You will make approx. 300 gp a bar. And you will need to make 195, 517 bars to 99 smithing.

Congratulations! If you followed this guide you should now have 99 smithing! With the money you've made you may now put that towards armours or other items you have always wanted. Maybe another skill. Walk around and show off that new cape of yours with pride!
